Objective To investigate the staffing situation of municipal-level and county-level CDCs in Anhui province and to explore a reasonable method for calculating the staffing, so as to provide a reference for the staffing of the Centers for Disease Control and prevention in Anhui Province and county. Methods The person in charge of each CDC in Anhui Province filled out a questionnaire, and descriptive statistics and other statistical methods were used to analyze the data. Results There were 16 municipal-level CDCs and 100 county-level CDCs in Anhui Province.The manning quotas of municipal CDC was 1,577, with a median of 91.The manning quotas of county-level CDCs was 3,093, with a median of 30.The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the recommendations at the municipal and county levels were 26.66% and 67.68%, respectively, and the median weights of the resident population and the area size of the formulation and compilation recommendations were 60% and 40%, respectively.After the calculation, the total manning quotas of CDCs in Anhui Province were 2,922 and 7,512, and the median was 179.5 and 70 respectively. Conclusion The calculated results can meet the actual needs of CDC at the municipal and county levels, and also meet the spirit of relevant documents, with better rationality and operability.At the same time, the requirements of relevant documents should be implemented as soon as possible, the number of CDC staff should be scientifically and reasonably formulated, and dynamic adjustment should be carried out.
