Objective To understand the awareness rate and behavioral characteristics of AIDS prevention and treatment among low-grade female sex workers (FSW) in Fengze District of Quanzhou City,and to explore effective intervention models to control the spread of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. Methods The demographic and behavioral characteristics of 200 FSW subjects were collected by questionnaire,and the blood samples were collected to detect the serological antibody of AIDS and syphilis. Results In 2018,78.5% of the 200 FSW were migrants in Fengze District,96.5% had junior high school education or below,and 85.0% were unmarried.The awareness rate of AIDS prevention and control knowledge was 86.0%.The condom use rate of the last sexual intercourse with a guest was 74.0%.The prevalence rate of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) in the last year was 41.0%,the positive rate of syphilis antibody was 9.0%,and the positive rate of HIV antibody was 0.The main sources of AIDS knowledge acquisition are TV (79.5%),Internet (47.5%),and free publicity materials (46.0%). Conclusion FSW has poor awareness of safe sexual behavior in low-grade places,the health education and behavioral interventions should be strengthened for them.
