Analysis of pathogenic Vibrio contamination of aquatic products in Bengbu City in 2018

Abstract

Objective To understand the contamination of pathogenic Vibrio in aquatic products and the carrying of virulence genes of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Bengbu City,so as to provide basis for the prevention and control of foodborne diseases. Methods The samples of aquatic products from farmers' markets,supermarkets and restaurants in Bengbu City were collected,and Vibrio parahaemolyticus,Vibrio cholerae,Vibrio vulnificus,Vibrio alginolyticus and Vibrio fluvialis in aquatic products were isolated,cultured and identified according to the National Handbook for Risk Monitoring of Food Pollution and Harmful Factors in 2018.The thermolabile hemolysin (TLH),thermostable direct haemolysin(TDH),thermolabile related hemolysin (TRH) and TOXR gene were detected by fluorescent PCR. Results A total of 200 aquatic products were collected,93 strains of pathogenic Vibrio were detected,80 of which were positive,with a positive rate of 40.0%.Among them,the detection rates of Vibrio parahaemolyticus,Vibrio cholerae,Vibrio vulnificus,Vibrio alginolyticus and Vibrio fluvialis were 22.5%,3.5%,0.5%,17.0% and 3.0%,respectively.All virulence genes of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were negative. Conclusion The aquatic products in Bengbu City are polluted by five kinds of pathogenic Vibrio to different degrees,among which Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio alginolyticus are the most serious.
