Effects of sugar-sweetened beverages on children and adolescents' health and consumption control strategies

Abstract

Drinking sugar-sweetened beverages for children and adolescents becomes more and more common ,excessive consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages will bring a lot of harm to health.In this study,the intake of sugar-sweetened beverages in children and adolescents and its impact on health were elaborated,and the domestic and foreign strategies to control sugar-sweetened beverages intake were summarized,so as to provide reference for China to formulate relevant policies.The summary found that the intake and the frequency of sugar-sweetened beverages of children and adolescents in our country were at a high level,and the intake of sugar-sweetened beverages increases the risk of obesity,dental caries,hypertension,dyslipidemia,depression,precocious puberty and other diseases,some countries has taken measures to control consumption,such as restricting sales,collecting taxes,limiting marketing,attaching warning labels,health education,China has also issued plans.To reduce the intake of sugar-sweetened beverages among children and adolescents,it should draw on international experience and formulate comprehensive intervention measures.
