Objective To understand the current situation of infectious disease health literacy of parents in kindergartens in Jinshan District of Shanghai and its related influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for building a better prevention and control system of infectious diseases on campus. Methods Five public kindergartens and four private kindergartens were selected according to the stratified random cluster sampling method.A questionnaire survey was conducted among the parents of all the kindergartens. Results A total of 2211 parents were investigated,2193 valid questionnaires were collected,and the effective rate was 99.2%.The overall health literacy rate of parents of kindergartens in Jinshan District was 10.85%.Multivariate logistic regression showed that the national institution occupation (OR=1.984,95% CI:1.235～3.186),college degree or above (OR=1.961,95% CI:1.003～3.454) and good self-rated health (OR=2.540,95% CI:1.517～4.253) had a positive effect on health literacy of infectious diseases (all P< 0.05). Conclusion Parents in kindergartens in Jinshan District have a low rate of infectious disease health literacy.Occupation,education background and health self-evaluation are the main factors affecting parents' infectious disease health literacy.The research results should be combined to further strengthen the health education of infectious diseases in kindergartens.
