Objective To understand the mental health status of HIV/AIDS patients under treatment in Anhui Province,so as to provide basic data for better implementation of mental health services for this population. Methods In September 2020,a total of 189 HIV/AIDS patients who were undergoing antiviral treatment in Anhui Provincial Infectious Hospital and Fuyang City were investigated by convenient sampling.The center for epidemiologic studies depression scale (CES-D),perceived stress scale (PSS),simple coping style scale (SCSQ) and the ten-item personality inventory in China (TIPI-C) were used to measure the attitude or practice and personality structure of the respondents when they encountered depression symptoms,stress conditions,difficulties,etc. Results The positive coping score of 189 HIV/AIDS patients was (19.31 ± 7.83),the negative coping scores was (11.27±4.61),and the perceived stress scores was (27.44 ± 8.10).65.08% of the respondents had depressive symptoms (CES-D ≥ 16).The positive coping score of the depression group (17.64±6.63) was lower than that of the non-depression group (22.41±8.92) (W=10 412.500,P<0.001),the negative coping score (11.90±4.81) was higher than that of the non-depression group (10.10±3.99) (W=12 577.500,P=0.012),and the perceived stress level (30.64±6.38) was higher than that of the non-depression group (21.48±7.62) (W=14 321.000,P<0.001).28.04% of HIV/AIDS patients had suicidal ideation and 5.29% had suicidal attempt.The main source of psychological stress of the respondents was HIV infection,accounting for 73.54% (139/189). Conclusion The depression and other psychological problems of HIV/AIDS patients are serious,and psychological support and intervention should be actively carried out.
