Abstract

Objective To investigate the sexual behaviors and AIDS knowledge acquisition of newly reported young students with HIV/AIDS before diagnosis,to provide a reference basis for the formulation of policies and measures to prevention and control of HIV/AIDS among young students. Methods Based on HIV/AIDS among young students reported in Anhui Province from January to July 2020,cases were interviewed using qualitative interviews.The survey included high-risk behaviors related to HIV infection and the acquisition of knowledge about HIV prevention and control. Results A total of 10 male HIV/AIDS cases were interviewed,all of them were infected by homosexual transmission,and the mean age was (19.80±1.48) years.The mean age of participants’ first homosexual experience was (17.80±1.14) years,and most of them had more than 5 sexual partners.The subjects meet sex partners mainly via a gay social networking app (Blued),and all of them had unprotected sex behavior before diagnosed.Multimedia formats such as the Internet,public websites,and school channels were the main ways interviewees acquired HIV knowledge and were more receptive. Conclusion Young male students have had sex with men before being diagnosed,and the internet is an important way for students to understand HIV knowledge.The advantages of the Internet should be fully utilized to promote health education in schools and strengthen the knowledge of AIDS prevention and control among students.
