Objective To analyze the trend changes of gastric cancer incidence in the cancer registration areas of Anhui Province from 2010 to 2018,and to provide basic data for the formulation of gastric cancer prevention and control measures. Methods The reported data from various cancer registration offices in Anhui Province from 2010 to 2018 were stratified by region (urban and rural) and gender to calculate the incidence rate of gastric cancer.The Chinese population standardized incidence rate and the world standardized incidence rate were calculated.The annual trend of standardized incidence rate was analyzed. Results The crude incidence rate of gastric cancer in the cancer registration areas of Anhui Province from 2010 to 2018 was 43.03/100 000,of which male 60.45/100 000 and female 24.73/100 000.The crude incidence rate of gastric cancer in the urban cancer registration areas of Anhui Province was 34.83/100 000,including 48.25/100 000 for male and 20.89/100 000 for females.The crude incidence rate of gastric cancer in the rural cancer registration areas of Anhui Province was 49.67/100 000,including 70.23/100 000 for males and 27.87/100 000 for females.The annual percentage change (APC) of the standardized incidence rate of gastric cancer in the Chinese population in the cancer registration areas of Anhui Province from 2010 to 2018 was-5.33% (P<0.05),with an APC of-5.69% (P<0.05) for males and-4.27% (P<0.05) for females.The APC of the standardized incidence rate of gastric cancer in the Chinese population in urban cancer registration areas was-5.21% (P<0.05),with an APC of-5.50% (P<0.05) for males and-4.47% (P<0.05) for females.The APC of the standardized incidence rate of gastric cancer in the Chinese population in rural cancer registration areas was-6.05% (P<0.05),with an APC of-6.47% (P<0.05) for males and-4.64% (P<0.05) for females. Conclusion The incidence of gastric cancer in the cancer registration areas of Anhui Province is decreasing,and the decrease is significant.However,attention should still be paid to the prevention and control of gastric cancer in rural areas,especially in rural males.Early diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer should be promoted to improve the detection rate of early gastric cancer,so as to reduce the incidence and mortality of gastric cancer.
