Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of newly reported HIV/AIDS cases aged 50 and above in Anxi County,and to provide a basis for developing targeted prevention and control measures. Methods The data from the information system of China disease control and prevention in infectious disease surveillance subsystem of newly reported HIV/AIDS cases aged 50 and above in Anxi County from 2018 to 2022 were collected and case proportions were calculated.The statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0. Results A total of 254 HIV/AIDS cases aged 50 and above were reported in Anxi County from 2018 to 2022,accounting for 52.9% (254/480) of the newly reported cases.Of these,rural areas accounted for 83.0%,men accounted for 68.1%,primary school and below education accounted for 78.7%,married or had spouse accounted for 70.9%,farmers accounted for 66.1%,heterosexual transmission accounted for 98.4%,and medical institution testing accounted for 74.8%. Conclusion Targeted comprehensive AIDS interventions are needed for people aged 50 years and older to improve their knowledge and capacity for HIV prevention and treatment,and to reduce the risk of HIV infection.
