Objective To understand the status and changing trend of domestic drinking water quality in Jiayuguan City,Gansu Province from 2017 to 2022,in order to provide the scientific basis and reference for water quality management and safeguarding people's drinking water safety in Jiayuguan City. Methods 1 732 water samples were collected from urban areas and three townships of Jiayuguan City from 2017 to 2022,and the routine monitoring of water quality indicators was conducted with GB/T 5750-2006 Standard examination methods for drinking water.Evaluation was carried out according to GB 5749-2006 Standards for drinking water quality,and the pass rate was compared by chi-square test. Results A total of 1 732 water samples were taken and 1 508 were qualified,with a qualification rate of 87.10%.The qualified rates of water samples from 2017 to 2022 were 46.27%,79.52%,98.32%,100.00%,98.60%,and 89.40%,respectively,showing an upward trend (χ ${ }_{trend}^{2}$=328.828,P<0.001).The qualified rate of urban water supply was 89.47%,while the qualified rate of rural water supply was 72.08%,The difference between them was statistically significant (χ²=53.938,P<0.001).The passing rate in the dry and abundant water periods was 91.37% and 90.04%,respectively,with no statistically significant difference (χ²=0.515,P=0.470).The passing rate of the ex-factory water,the terminal water,and the secondary water supply were 74.23%,91.12%,and 78.02%,respectively,with a statistically significant difference (χ²=40.823,P<0.001).In the living drinking water quality of 39 test items,unqualified indicators were mainly selenium,aluminum,and zinc elements. Conclusion The drinking water quality qualification rate in Jiayuguan City is generally on the rise,but there are some indicators unqualified,and relevant measures need to be taken to improve the quality of drinking water.
