Trends of incidence and mortality of cancers in Yong'an from 2014 to 2020

Trends of incidence and mortality of cancers in Yong'an from 2014 to 2020
Objective To analyze the cancer incidence,mortality and trends in Yong'an of Fujian Province from 2014 to 2020,and to provide the scientific basis for cancer prevention and control. Methods From 2014 to 2020,the incidence and death data of malignant tumors in Yong'an Cancer Registry were selected to calculate the incidence rate,standardized incidence rate,mortality,standardized mortality,annual percentage change (APC),average annual percentage change (AAPC) of malignant tumors.The time trend analysis was conducted. Results From 2014 to 2020,the average annual incidence rate and mortality rate of malignant tumors were 293.76/100 000 and 167.74/100 000,the standardized incidence rate and standardized mortality rate were 233.79/100 000 and 128.75/100 000.The incidence rate of malignant tumors (APC=5.69%,t=5.854,P=0.002) and the standardized incidence rate (APC=4.47%,t=5.713,P=0.002) of the whole populations in Yong'an showed an upward trend.The mortality rate (APC=0.64%,t=0.428,P=0.687) and the standardized mortality rate (APC=-1.71%,t=-1.230,P=0.273) had no statistically significant differences over time.The top five malignant tumors in Yong'an were lung cancer (18.92%),colorectal cancer (14.06%),stomach cancer (9.37%),liver cancer (8.73%),breast cancer (7.39%).The top five tumors of death were lung cancer (24.64%),liver cancer (13.32%),stomach cancer (12.42%),colorectal cancer (12.22%),and esophageal cancer (5.70%).The incidence rate and mortality rate of malignant tumors increased with age at 30 years old and above. Conclusion The incidence rate of malignant tumors in Yong'an is on the rise,and comprehensive prevention and control measures for malignant tumors should be implemented for common cancers and different populations.
