The monitoring results of drinking water quality in Jingde County from 2015 to 2022

The monitoring results of drinking water quality in Jingde County from 2015 to 2022

Abstract

Objective To understand the hygienic status of drinking water quality from 2015 to 2022 in Jingde County of Anhui Province,and to provide scientific basis for strengthening the safety management of drinking water in Jingde County.Methods Water samples were collected from monitoring points of drinking water in Jingde County from 2015 to 2022.The collected drinking water samples were tested and evaluated in accordance with the Standard Examination Methods for Drinking Water (GB/T 5750-2006) and the Standards for Drinking Water Quality(GB 5749-2006).Results From 2015 to 2022,a total of 499 drinking water samples were monitored in Jingde County,with 350 qualified samples,and the qualification rate was 70.14%.The qualification rates of water samples ($\chi_{\text { trend }}^{2}$=18.508,P<0.001),microbial indicators ($\chi_{\text { trend }}^{2}$=23.148,P<0.001),and sensory and general chemical indicators ($\chi_{\text { trend }}^{2}$=18.270,P<0.001) showed upward trend from 2015 to 2022.The qualification rates of rural water samples (63.28%),water samples sourced from streams (62.00%),water samples during the abundant water period (65.06%),water samples from supply units with a scale less than 100 m3/d (64.86%),and water samples from supply units without disinfection processes (63.56%) were relatively low.The main unqualified indicators were microbial indicators,such as thermotolerant coliform bacteria or Escherichia coli and total coliform bacteria,with qualification rates of 49.52% and 78.96%,respectively.The qualification rates of total coliform bacteria were lower in rural water samples (72.66%),water samples sourced from streams (70.86%),water samples from supply units with a scale less than 1 000 m3/d (75.75%),and water samples from supply units without disinfection processes (72.61%).Conclusion The qualification rate of drinking water quality in Jingde County from 2015 to 2022 is relatively low,and the main unqualified indicators are microbial indicators such as thermotolerant coliform bacteria or Escherichia coli and total coliform bacteria,which should be the focus of future drinking water monitoring.
