Objective To investigate the quality of life and its influencing factors among workers in chemical enterprises and provide basis for developing interventions. Methods The World Health Organization quality of life questionnaire abbreviated version(WHOQOL-BREF) were employed to assess the quality of life among workers in a chemical enterprise. Results The mean score of subjective quality of life was 2.63, and the mean score of subjective health status was 2.66. Scores of the physiological domain, psychological domain and environmental domain were significantly lower than that of the norm(P﹤0.01). The univariate analysis showed that shift work was correlated with the score of the physiological domain. Age, education level, marital status, type of work and length of service were correlated with the score of the psychological domain. Age, education level, marital status and length of service were also correlated with the score of the environmental domain. The results from multiple regression showed that the main factors which affected the physiological domain were appetite, family dispute and shift work. Factors which affected the psychological domain were appetite, family dispute, age and type of work, while factors which affected the environmental domain were appetite, family dispute, age, alcohol drinking and gender. Conclusion The life quality of workers in the chemical enterprise was lower than that of general population. Specific measures should be taken to improve their quality of life.
