Objective To understand the pregnant women and their family's willingness to choose the way of delivery and its influencing factors in Huangshan city. Methods At the health care clinics in 8 health care institutions, 1567 pregnant women aged 18-60 years and their families were choosed for the subjects. An anonymous self-administered form or face-to-face questionnaire survey was used to investigate the pregnant womem' choice of delivery mode. Results Among the 1567 pregnant women, 77.7% of them would choose natural childbirth, and 22.3% of them would choose cesarean section. There was no significant difference in the choice of the mode of delivery between different objects, gender, educational level, personal and family income, residence, medical expenses and gestational weeks(P>0.05). There were significant differences in the choice of the mode of delivery between different age, occupation, pregnant women and birth times(P＜0.05). The influencing factors of chooseing cesarean section included the fear of failure, fear of pain, a trial of high risk factors, cesarean section, safety and other factors, worried about the impact of sexual life, choose auspicious. Conclusion Perinatal health care workers should develop targeted health education programs based on different objects to guide pregnant women to choose a reasonable way of delivery and to reduce the rate of cesarean section indications.
