Abstract

Objective To discuss the epidemiological characteristics for family clustering events of hand-foot and mouth disease (HFMD) so as to provide new scientific evidence for standardized disposal. Methods The data with family clustering events of HFMD in 2014 was collected by field investigation and artificial screening. Results There were 304 family clustering events of HFMD in Fuyang in 2014, involving 613 cases. Most of these cases occurred in rural area, accounting for 90.79%. There was significant difference in different areas (χ²=71.346,P<0.01). The population distribution was dominated by scattered children (97.72%). Conclusion The family clustering events of HFMD was distributed, and the monitoring of etiology needs to be further strengthened.
