Objective To evaluate the bacteriostatic effects and safety of chlorhexidine acetate lotion, and provide experimental basis for its practical application. Methods The bacteriostatic test and animal toxicity test were used to evaluate the bacteriostatic efficacy and safety of the lotion. Guinea pigs were tested in skin irritation test and allergic reaction test, and New Zealand rabbits were selected for vaginal mucosal stimulation test. Results The solution of the lotion could inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans, and no irritation to the skin of guinea pigs and the vaginal mucosa of New Zealand rabbits and no skin allergy. Stability was good after 3 months at 37℃ and 75% relative humidity. Conclusion The lotion has good bacteriostatic effect on the fungi and bacteria tested, and has good stability, no irritation to skin and mucosa, and can be used for disinfection of skin and mucosa.
