Analysis of etiological surveillance results of hand foot and mouth disease in Dangshan county,2015-2017

Abstract

Objective To understand the etiology and distribution of hand foot mouth disease (HFMD) in Dangshan county from 2015 to 2017. Methods A total of 180 samples of throat swabs were collected from People's Hospital of Dangshan County from 2015-2017. Fluorescent quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) was used to detect enterovirus 71 (EV71), coxsackievirus A16 (CoxA16) and intestinal universal nucleic acid. Results Of the 180 clinical specimens of HFMD, 82 were positive for enterovirus nucleic acid, with a positive rate of 45.56%. From 2015 to 2017, the positive rate of enterovirus was 46.67%, 38.33% and 51.67%, respectively. There was no significant difference in the positive rate of each year(χ2=2.195. P=0.334). There were 18 cases of EV71 positive, 12 CoxA16 positive and 52 other enterovirus, accounting for 21.95%, 14.64%, 63.42% respectively. The positive rates of male and female were 46.96% (54/115) and 43.07% (28/65), respectively. Conclusion From 2015 to 2017, the main epidemic pathogens of HFMD in Dangshan county were not changed, and other enteroviruses were the dominant pathogens in three years, accompanied by EV71 and CoxA16.
