Objective To understand the incidence of schistosomiasis in Anqing City from 2005 to 2017,and analyze the trend and intensity of schistosomiasis. Methods The data of schistosomiasis and snails were collected to analyze the prevalence and characteristics of schistosomiasis. Results The infection rate of schistosomiasis in the city showed a downward trend from 2005 to 2017 (χ2trend=16447.217,P< 0.001).The number of schistosomiasis in the city dropped from 9 082 in 2005 to 1 704 in 2017, a decrease of 81.24%.No cases of acute schistosomiasis were found for 7 consecutive years, and infected cattle were not detected in the past two years.In 2017, the area of snails was 6 464.11 million m2, with an increase of 6.98% over 2005.Since 2013, no schistosome infected snails had been detected for 5 consecutive years.The density of snails and infected snails have decreased year by year, and the density of snails and the density of infected snails were 0.13/0.1m2, 0.00/0.1m2, respectively, which were 0.84/0.1m2 and 0.00316/0.1m2 decreased by 84.66% and 100%. Conclusion Anqing City has effectively controlled the schistosomiasis epidemic through the implementation of the comprehensive control strategy of schistosomiasis,but there is a risk of snails spreading .
