Abstract

Objective To analyze the secondhand smoke exposure among residents aged ≥18 years and over in Anhui Province, based on the data of chronic diseases and nutrition surveillance in Chinese adults in 2015. Methods Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was used, 7553 objects were included and analyzed by post-stratification weight adjustment and complex sampling design method. Results The secondhand smoke exposure rate of residents ≥18 years old was 65.8%, and the secondhand smoke exposure rates of men and women were 68.3% and 64.7% respectively, with no statistical difference between the gender (P>0.05).The secondhand smoke exposure rates varied among different age groups (χ2=10.460,P=0.010), educational levels (χ2=17.630,P=0.002), marital status (χ2=8.784,P=0.013) and occupations (χ2=17853,P=0.001).The highest rate of daily exposure was found in a week (34.8%). Conclusion The level of secondhand smoke exposure of adult residents in Anhui Province is relatively high, and the number of people exposed to second-hand smoke for a long time is large, therefore the situation of tobacco control is very serious.
