Objective To understand the iodine nutritional status of residents in Yizheng City and to guide the scientific iodine supplementation. Methods From 2017 to 2018,according to the requirements of Surveillance Program of Iodine Deficiency Disorders in Jiangsu Province, 500 school-age children aged 8-10 and 200 pregnant women in Yizheng City were tested for urinary iodine and edible salt iodine contents.Palpation method was used to detect goiter in 500 children. Results No children with goiter were detected.The median urinary iodine of children aged 8-10 was 166.50 μg/L, the appropriate proportion of iodine intake accounted for 44.20%,and the excessive iodine intake accounted for 37.30%.The median urinary iodine of pregnant women was 122.20 μg/L, the appropriate iodine intake accounted for 24.00%, and the inadequate iodine intake accounted for 82.20%.The median iodine content of edible salt was 24.50 mg/kg, the coverage rate of iodized salt was 99.86%, the qualified rate of iodized salt was 99.43%, and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 99.29%. Conclusion From 2017 to 2018,the iodine nutritional status of school-age children aged 8-10 in Yizheng City is good.Some children's iodine nutritional level is super-appropriate, and pregnant women's iodine nutritional intake is generally insufficient.Comprehensive measures should be taken to improve the iodine nutritional level of the key roups.
